The annual salary range is $105,808 – $128,615. Pending Board approval, this position is eligible for a 4.4% COLA adjustment (July 1, 2026) and four separate 3% salary adjustments (every 6 months) from July 1, 2026 through January 1, 2028. A comprehensive benefits package is included: health, dental, and vision insurance; vacation; sick leave; 12 paid holidays plus 3 floating holidays; life insurance; deferred compensation (457 plan); CalPERS retirement; fitness stipend; AirMed Care flight insurance; and an emergency employee loan program.

Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District (HBMWD) is seeking a qualified professional to join our team as an Assistant Maintenance and Electrical Supervisor.
Under general supervision, directly assist and support the Maintenance and Electrical Supervisor, regularly assuming full supervisory responsibilities in their absence. Lead staff in construction, repair, calibration, and maintenance of District pumping, water treatment, distribution, storage, hydroelectric, communications, electrical, and electronic facilities. Coordinate the District Safety Program and Regulatory Safety Compliance Program. We are looking for a candidate with the skills and ambition to grow into the Maintenance and Electrical Supervisor position.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of progressively responsible construction and maintenance experience. Experience with water treatment and distribution systems is preferred. Required certifications include a Grade IV Water Treatment Operator’s Certificate, Grade IV Water Distribution Certificate (or ability to obtain one within specific timeframe), NCCCO Crane Operator Certification, Class A CDL with Haz-Mat Endorsement, and American Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certificate (must obtain within first year).

The HBMWD operates two separate and distinct water systems: a domestic water system which supplies treated drinking water; and an industrial system which supplies untreated raw water to large industrial users for industrial purposes. we serve approximately 88,000 customers.
