Central San, a progressive public utility, is recruiting for a Senior Environmental Compliance Inspector. This position will lead and participate in the work of staff responsible for a variety of routine to complex inspections, samplings, investigations, permitting, and other duties related to enforcing local, state, and federal standards for wastewater discharge.
Completion of 60 semester units from an accredited college which included coursework in organic and inorganic chemistry. Completion of two (2) college-level hazardous materials technology courses may be substituted for the chemistry requirement.
Five years of full-time experience performing duties equivalent to an Environmental Compliance Inspector at the District.
Substitution for Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a closely related field may be substituted for two years of the required experience.
Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
Possession of an Environmental Compliance Inspector Certificate Grade II certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association.
Possession of a Pretreatment Facility Inspection Certificate issued by Sacramento State University shall be obtained within two (2) years of appointment.
Possession of a Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Certificate shall be obtained within one (1) year of appointment.
Possession of an Environmental Compliance Inspector Certificate Grade III certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association shall be obtained within two (2) years of appointment.
