City of Gilroy, CA
The City of Gilroy is seeking two experienced fire service professionals to help lead its well-regarded Fire Department. The new Fire Division Chiefs will support a department that is well thought of by its community. The ideal candidates must be dynamic leaders, teachers, mentors, and experienced at developing relationships in a team environment. They must have shown the ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making both in an emergency response environment and in administrative and management situations. They must be excellent communicators and be able to express themselves clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Strong emotional and social intelligence skills are necessary. The ability to successfully interact with different personalities and work styles is important.
The minimum requirements for this position are a bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, fire science, fire technology, other fire-service related programs, or another related field of study, and six (6) years of full time paid experience in an organized Fire Department which includes a minimum of three (3) years as a Fire Captain or higher. Further, the three (3) years of Captain experience must include structural and wildland firefighting work experience.
The annual salary range is $160,738 to $220,767 DOQE. The City provides an outstanding benefit package.
