The City of Ventura Parks & Recreation Department is looking for a Recreation Manager to join our team. This Manager will bring their supervisory and management experience and will play a key role in leading the City’s creative and collaborative Community Partnerships Division.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Parks and Recreation Director, the Recreation Manager is responsible for the overall management and operations of the Community Partnerships Division. The Community Partnerships Division includes public art program, historic sites, marketing and community outreach, website and graphics, special events, facility rentals and permits, senior services, volunteer program, customer service and registration, community gardens, granting programs and independent contract instructor classes. This position provides supervision of professional and specialized staff; assists in the planning and administrative functions of the assigned Division and represents the Division to the community.
This position is designated as "at will." At will employees serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority and are subject to discharge without cause and without the right of appeal.

Salary and Benefits
The City offers a compensation package that includes both a generous salary and excellent benefits!
SALARY: $110,293.66 - $147,794.40 Annually DOQ

Position Qualifications
A combination of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in recreation, leisure administration, arts administration, physical education, park administration, marketing, journalism, public or business administration, or a closely related field, and four years of progressively responsible experience in program supervision and management related to assigned program area(s).
LICENSE/CERTIFICATES
License: Depending on assignment, possession of a valid California Class C driver's license may be required.
