About the Position The County of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an exceptional, innovative, and collaborative leader to join the executive staff of the County’s Parks Department.  The County of San Luis Obispo Parks has an annual budget of $13 million and has 62 full time employees with an additional 130+ seasonal employees and 1,100 volunteers.   The Parks system is comprised of 50 parks consisting of Regional Parks, Community Parks, Recreational Trails, Natural Areas, and Golf Courses.  Parks programs and facilities include campgrounds, lakes, beach, lifeguard services, golf courses and practice facilities, sports fields and courts, special events, playgrounds, skate parks, dog parks, and pools.
