The Operations Supervisor is responsible to plan, organize, direct and supervise a variety of activities related to repairing and maintaining City buildings, streets, parks, trees, and fleet; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned are of responsibility.
This recruitment is being conducted to fill the current vacancy in the Operations Services Administration Divisionof the Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department. This position works under the direction of the Park Operations Manager and will organize and direct crews and activities related to the maintenance of City parks, grounds, and landscape areas including Community Facilities Districts and Landscape Maintenance Districts. This position is responsible to train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel including Crewleaders and Maintenance Workers.

Experience:
Three years of increasingly responsible experience performing construction and maintenance work in the assigned area of responsibility; including one year providing technical and functional supervision over assigned personnel
Training:
Equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college with major course work in business administration, public administration or related field.
License or Certificate:
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license.
When Assigned to Parks:
Possession of a Pesticide Applicator's Certificate within one year of appointment. Failure to obtain the required certification may result in release from probation.
Pest Control Advisor's License issued by the State of California is highly desirable.
Playground Safety Certificate issued by the national Recreation Parks Association is highly desirable.
