Under supervision of the General Manager, the Administrative Clerk provides general administrative/office support, coordinates the events/activities calendar, manages the rentals of facilities, provides primary administrative/customer service support to the Solid Waste and Wastewater divisions. The Clerk also supports the District Board of Directors by attending meeting, preparing the agenda packet, and taking meeting minutes. This position has strong contact with the public and is the first line for communicating and assisting the public. Daily interaction with customers includes information sharing, problem solving and complaint resolution with regard to TCSD services. The Clerk is knowledgeable of the District's services and programs. This position requires exceptional administrative and front office skills. This position includes some evening work.

Any combination of experience and training that will provide the required knowledge and abilities to qualify for the position. Ideal candidates will desire to be an active, collaborative member of the TCSD team with a minimum of three years increasingly responsible in customer service with excellent telephone and computer skills. Communicate well verbally and in writing with the public and fellow employees. College coursework and/or college degree is highly preferred. Possession of a valid California driver's license. A certified Municipal Clerk Certificate (CMC) is desirable, but not required.
The mission of TCSD is to protect and enhance a healthy community in Tamalpais Valley by providing an environmentally safe wastewater system, conducting an efficient and innovative refuse and recycling collection program, preserving district-owned open space and providing recreational activities for our residents, giving a voice to our residents as they work with other governmental agencies.
The Tamalpais Community Services District (TCSD) is a special district located in Tamalpais Valley approximately 1/4 mile south of the City of Mill Valley and 4.5 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. TCSD provides refuse, recycling, wastewater, and parks and recreation services to the unincorporated area known as Tamalpais Valley. The District is comprised of approximately 7,500 residents and 30 businesses. The District owns and maintains refuse collection trucks, 29.5 miles of a wastewater collection system, a community center, a smaller building known as "the cabin" available for smaller gatherings, support equipment for parks, recreation and open space. Tam Valley is the gateway to Muir Woods, the Pacific Coast shoreline, and an easy drive to San Francisco and the Bay Area.
