Sewer Authority Mid-Coastside, located in Half Moon Bay, is seeking a candidate for the full-time position of Maintenance Mechanic I/II to perform a variety of skilled and advanced tasks in the installation, maintenance and repair of all District-maintained facilities, machinery, and equipment.

Maintenance Mechanic I - is the entry-level classification in the Maintenance Mechanic series. Employees in the classification receive on-the-job training and experience in the maintenance of a wastewater system. As experience and proficiency are gained, assignments will become more varied and difficult and supervision become more general rather than direct.
Experience: One year of full-time experience in repair and maintenance of equipment common to a treatment plant or similar type facility.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Maintenance Mechanic II - performs journey level work and is required to have previous experience and knowledge of the fundamentals of a wastewater system, which is typically attained through the Maintenance Mechanic I classification. Employees in this classification perform a broader range of duties, more technically complex tasks, are supervised less closely, are expected to set an example of professional efficiency, and may occasionally provide technical direction to less experienced maintenance staff.
Experience: Two years of full-time experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a wastewater treatment plant, or similar type facility in a position equivalent to a Maintenance Mechanic I at Sewer Authority Mid-Coastside.
Education: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
License or Certificate: Possession of a Grade II Mechanical Technologist certificate issued by the (CWEA).

$36.21 - $43.24 Hourly
$2,897 - $3,459 Biweekly
Maintenance Mechanic II
$39.84 - $47.56 Hourly
$3,187 - $3,805 Biweekly

In addition, for all classifications, candidates must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record and be insurable by SAM for the operation of SAM vehicles. Must have and maintain a Class C State of California driver’s license in compliance with established SAM vehicle operation standards.
Must be able to wear S.C.B.A. and perform confined space entry and emergency response duties in protective clothing and equipment including S.C.B.A. weighing 32 pounds.
