Day-to-day oversight and direction may also be received through the Assistant City Manager. Oversight responsibility of the Director of Public Utilities includes management of the municipal utility system and providing the overall direction for daily operation, capital projects, infrastructure needs, long-range planning, maintenance, and fiscal management. The Department of Public Utilities has a 2021-2022 Fiscal Year Budget of $312 million allocated for all activities and includes funding for 589 full-time equivalent employees.
