Salary Details:

Position is part of the Member Services Department and reports to the Member Services Director
Components of the position include:
Data Input, Coordination and Management
Regularly collect and validate data that can be used across all CSDA departments and service areas including affiliate organizations (i.e. Special District Leadership Foundation and CSDA Finance Corporation). Work to make sure that the data is collected properly, observing any legal or ethical standards are met, especially for data that involves personal information.
- Perform collection, interpretation and entry/recording of data into the association database in accordance with company’s guidelines and standards
- Ensure integrity of data, verifying information regarding data quality and data completeness
- Manage and purge old and/or duplicate data on a regular basis and within association guidelines
- Regularly identify gaps in data and research accordingly to complete missing information for member, non-member, stakeholder, and affiliate data
- Regularly work with other departments to identify data needs/projects. Prioritize work in collaboration with supervisor and department managers.
- Assemble and input special district related information and demographics that would be helpful in serving and/or representing CSDA members
- Conduct periodic interviews/meetings with staff in order to aid in problem definition, feasibility studies and analysis to then lead implementation of automated processes and database integration with other association systems
- Analyze staff requests related to the database in order to estimate costs for larger and/or integrated improvements
- Prepare and maintain user manuals and instructions on how to use the association database
- Research potential functions of the database and additional tools available (i.e. add-ons). Regularly recommend to management improvements on how CSDA can get the most out of the system to serve members
- Perform daily/weekly/monthly maintenance of association database as required
Data Management, Queries & Reporting
- Design and implement custom pages/data tables/dashboards to improve reporting
- Manage queries and assist in development of new, custom queries as needed
- Manage reports and assist in development of new, custom reports as needed
- Assist departments in development and management of membership engagement tracking and reporting
- Prepare data for reporting in meetings and presentations as needed
Online Community Coordination
- Monitor community member posts and activity and upload resources/content as appropriate to engage members and potential members in online dialogues
- Recommend and implement engagement tactics, including incorporating communities into organization programming, communications strategy, annual conferences, and events
- Assist in developing goals and priorities for the communities and develop tactical plans to support attainment of these goals
- Track and report the community engagement and performance
- Regularly develop skills to fully understand the functionality of the communities platform and leveraging available features independently
- Proactively work with departments to keep communities active and current utilizing system features and best practices
- Assist in work related to integrating the iMIS database with the communities platform
- Collaboratively work to develop promotion and engagement campaigns for communities
- Provide guidance to department staff in managing their respective communities
MISCELLANEOUS
- Provides back up support for telephones and member inquiries as needed
- Perform other duties as requested
Requirements
- Exceptional written (correspondence, spelling, grammar) and verbal communications skills
- Extensive knowledge of computers and database software essential
- Demonstrated knowledge of database design and data techniques
- Experience with data extraction, reporting, and analysis tools
- Must be detail-oriented team player with a positive attitude
- Independent worker who is willing to take on a variety of projects
- Strong organizational and excellent clerical skills a must
- Personable, pleasant, cheerful with excellent telephone skills
Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS in information science, computer science, management information systems (MIS), or related field from accredited college preferred. Associate’s degree or high school diploma with a minimum of three to five years proven data management experience may be considered. Experience with iMIS, Higher Logic, and database languages like SQL a plus.
Travel may be necessary, both by car and by air, including absences from home for one or more nights. Travel may be on the employee’s or employer’s time, or both. Working nights, weekends or holidays may occasionally be required/necessary.
