The mission of the LRD is to provide a clean, safe recreational environment in which members can exercise, socialize, relax, and develop lasting friendships. The LRD has a year-round aquatics program, tennis, pickleball, fitness classes, bocce ball, volleyball, and kids summer camp programs, as well as social events such as summer barbeques and holiday celebrations. The LRD is a community-based, inclusive recreational facility and is an Equal Opportunity employer.
About the Position
The LRD General Manager reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for managing operations. The General Manager will have exceptionally strong leadership, management, mentorship, and multi-tasking skills, while being highly organized and detail oriented. This is a very visible, people-oriented role and will require someone with excellent interpersonal skills. A professional demeanor is expected at all times, with a strong work ethic, high energy and enthusiasm. Additionally, the GM will oversee the construction of the new LRD main pool and wading pool.
Required Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will have a college degree or equivalent with college coursework in recreation management and at least 5 years of strong recreational program management experience. Also:
Substantial experience managing a recreational facility including all financial, operations, marketing, program development, safety, legal compliance, and staff development functions.
Professional experience running sports and fitness programs for various age groups and abilities.
Demonstrated ability to establish and promote community events such as holiday events, book readings, and other community involvement programs.
Impressive communication and interpersonal skills to promote, respond and resolve, and engage the community in recreational and social activities.
