BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Incumbent is primarily responsible for executing a comprehensive marketing program including written and verbal communications; marketing plan development, market research; customer feedback tracking; planning and management of production of print materials, electronic and social media, and promotions of programs and events. This position is also responsible for the planning, organizing, contracting, administering and monitoring of the MWR commercial sponsorship program. Coordinates written and verbal communications for a wide variety of media including military newspapers, newsletters, websites, electronic and static marquees. Coordinates production of publicity materials and coordinates distribution of these materials including press releases and plan of the week notices. Insures all U.S. Navy public affairs policies are strictly followed. Responsible for the development of marketing plans and production of marketing campaigns to enhance and promote N9 programs from inception to completion, in accordance with Site policies. Reviews graphic request submissions for accuracy, viability and pertinence to program objectives. Assists with coordination of special events.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
4 year college degree with an emphasis in communications or equivalent work experience in a related field/discipline is desired.
Ability to effectively communicate in a variety of methods including written and verbal communications.
Must be able to produce press releases, feature articles, work with military and civilian media and understand the principles of public relations.
Incumbent must understand grammar, variety of media and military protocol.
Strong knowledge of customer service for a diverse and complex customer base.
Knowledge of a computerized desktop publishing system, Internet, advertising and public relations principles and computers is desirable.
