The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District serves the northern portion of the California Central Valley spanning both Sacramento and Placer Counties. Metro Fire is the 7th largest fire agency in California, serving a population of over 759,000 out of 41 fire stations supported by approximately 700 employees and an FY2020-2021 operating budget of $230 million. The CFO, along with a staff of 11, is charged with overseeing the District’s financial operations.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and strategic finance professional who thrives in a robust team environment. They will have a strong customer orientation and be an engaged, hands-on manager who can inspire and lead, yet also roll up their sleeves to get work done. The ideal candidate will offer five (5) years of public finance experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in public or business administration or a related field is required.
