The Recreation Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day supervision of contract sports programs and beach programs, field allocations, oversight of the field ambassador program, youth commission, special events and other duties as assigned. Desired qualifications include but are not limited to experiences in: working with area youth sports organizations, contract instructors, in-house adult leagues and field permits. Candidates should have good written and verbal communication and experience in part-time staff/volunteer supervision.
Placement will be made at the I or II level depending upon selected candidate's experience and the Department's need.
Training and Experience, Level I
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Programming and Leadership, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above.
In addition to the above experience, Level II requirements include:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Administration/Systems Management or a related field, and one year of progressively responsible full-time experience related to recreation programming including budgeting and supervision.
