The San Joaquin County Public Works Department is seeking dynamic and experienced individuals to join a progressive, public service employer.
The current vacancies are in the Water Resources and Flood Management Division and will be filled at either the Engineer III or Engineer IV level depending on qualifications.
While the Engineer III is unlicensed and the Engineer IV is licensed, both perform advanced professional field and office engineering work, while providing professional engineering judgment on projects and studies, and may supervise engineering staff.
These positions will be involved with projects relating to flood management, flood?way encroachments, hydraulic analysis and design, groundwater management planning, hydrogeology, municipal stormwater quality program management, land use applications and Public Works permitting.

Both levels require a valid California driver’s license.
Engineer III: Four years of progressively responsible and varied civil engineering experience equivalent to Engineer I in San Joaquin County; and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate as issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
Engineer IV: Possession of a valid certification of registration as a Civil or Traffic Engineer issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
