This position is responsible for the marketing of the CSDA Business Affiliates program, including recruiting new business members and retention of current members.
Work collaboratively with the Business Affiliates, developing relationships and facilitating mutually beneficial opportunities
Recruit and work with Business Affiliates and potential Business Affiliates to maximize exhibiting, sponsorship, advertising, and membership revenues to the association
Work with Member Services and Publications Directors to update and promote exhibitor/sponsor/advertiser materials offering a full range of marketing opportunities for vendors and suppliers
Take responsibility for ensuring Business Affiliate fulfillment and investment satisfaction
Regular and Associate Membership Recruitment
This position serves as lead for Regular and Associate member recruitment efforts in coordination with the Member Services Director.
Identify and target non-members for recruitment
Promote and manage annual Trial Membership program and other campaigns
Utilize available data to customize marketing and sales approaches based on target audiences
Connect with potential members in-person through site visits (state-wide travel)
Support data integrity efforts by gathering and entering accurate information on prospective district members
Take responsibility for on-boarding process for new members
In coordination with Public Affairs Field Coordinators, attend and present at local/regional/chapter meetings in efforts to increase participation in CSDA
Grow Non-Dues Revenues & Partnerships
Work with the Member Services Director in development of new partnerships, programs, and benefits designed to add value to district membership in CSDA as well as increase non-dues revenues received by the association
Develop marketing campaigns to educate district members about special programs and benefits and encourage their participation
Assist with California Special Districts Alliance marketing opportunities
Support retention efforts in coordination with Member Services Director and Senior Member Services Specialist.
Perform other duties as requested.

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in communications, marketing or related field is highly desirable. Non-profit marketing, program development and customer service experience a plus. Some understanding of local government needs is also desirable.

Travel will be necessary, both by car and by air, including absences from home for one or more nights. Travel may be on the employee’s or employer’s time, or both. Working nights, weekends or holidays may occasionally be required/necessary.
