The Turlock Irrigation District (TID), an agency that continues to pave the way in providing both irrigation water and electric retail energy in California, is seeking a General Manager to direct the operations of TID’s extensive irrigation water storage and delivery system, as well as the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity within a 662 square-mile service area in Central California.
Turlock is a medium-sized valley town in Stanislaus County that offers both small town charm and home-town friendliness with a variety of cultural and sightseeing opportunities that can't be found in other valley cities. Turlock’s tree lined streets; friendly atmosphere and charming Main Street are a unique taste of hometown America. In the heart of California's 400-mile Central Valley, Turlock is the second largest city in Stanislaus County, with a population which has grown steadily from 13,992 in 1970 to nearly 73,000 today.
Candidates should have experience at a senior management level that demonstrates a strong background and knowledge of irrigation water and/or electric utility operations and issues; combined with superior leadership and strategic planning skills. The individual should also be a visionary leader who instills confidence by providing clear, well researched and well-developed recommendations based on knowledge of the industry and technology; is an inspirational, articulate communicator; and is flexible and adaptable, open to other’s ideas.
