The City of Vacaville invites applications for the position of Recreation Manager within the Parks and Recreation Department. Currently one (1) vacancy exists in the department. This recruitment will also serve to establish a list to fill additional vacancies that may occur over the next 12 months.
This is a newly allocated position within Community Services. Under general direction of the Director of Community Services, the Recreation Manager works closely with all members of the Management Team including the current Recreation Manager, Park Planners, Recreation Supervisors and Management Analyst to initiate and manage projects, guide and direct the work of staff, and to ensure the Community Services Department emulates the City of Vacaville Core Values of Accountability, Inclusion, Innovation and Responsiveness.
The Ideal Candidate will have experience in marketing, project management, budgeting, implementing key policy and procedures, as well as the ability to enhance programs and services while maximizing cost recovery. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to:

Education: Equivalent to the completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Recreation, Public Administration, Business, Human Resources or a related field.
Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible experience in administering and coordinating Community Services projects, programs and activities, including at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
License: May require the possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and a satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.
