Located within the Natomas Basin area of Sacramento (including portions of Sacramento and Sutter counties), Reclamation District No. 1000 (RD 1000) is one of the largest reclamation districts in the State of California. RD 1000 provides agricultural and urban drainage, and flood protection for over 100,000 residents and in excess of $8 billion in damageable property within the 55,000-acre Natomas Basin. The Board of Trustees is seeking a transformational leader to replace the retiring General Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a broad understanding of flood control, water resources, contract management, and other related activities. A strong understanding of the agriculture and urban interface that the District faces is expected. A self-motivated leader with business acumen and strong inter-personal skills is sought to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of RD 1000. The Board is seeking candidates who possess strong fiscal and budgetary skills, as well as a proven history of leadership and successful decision making for his/her own organization and able to build strong relationships with flood control partners and community groups.
