Serves full-time as Manager (65%) and Lead Operator (35%) of a public water treatment and delivery system serving approximately 230 homes in a small rural community along the coast of northern California. Responsible for overall system operation on a day-to-day basis, including regulatory compliance with water quality standards, seeking outside funds required for successful continued system operation, diagnosis and repair of system waters leaks, drafting agenda for monthly meetings of the Board of Directors (including preparing Manager’s Report), developing annual budget and water rates for base and commodity service, and oversight and evaluation of other staff (secondary operator and secretary/bookkeeper employed on a part-time basis).
Salary: $3,500 - $4,500 monthly, based on experience
Possession of Class C CA driver’s license;
Possession of Grade 1 Water Distribution and Grade 2 Water Treatment certificates issued by the State of California
At least 2 years’ experience as water treatment operator;
Experience in supervision and evaluation of employees;
Experience in preparation of grants for outside funding of projects;
Experience in development of specifications for Requests for Proposals for heavy equipment contract work (e.g., for replacement water lines in specific areas of the system)
