East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD), one of nation’s largest independent water and wastewater utility, invites qualified professionals to apply for the position of Administrative Services Supervisor (Records Management). The Administrative Services Supervisor oversees a group of employees providing administrative services for the Records Management Unit, as well as performs complex administrative and related duties. Considerable latitude of judgment is exercised, using established parameters and guidelines.
The most competitive candidates for the position will possess the following characteristics:
Thorough knowledge of office practices and procedures, including office administration, techniques for organizing and scheduling work flow, records retention practices and procedures, and electronic filing systems
Experience with records management practices and may be affiliated with the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) and/or Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM)
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including thorough knowledge of punctuation and grammar
Ability to review documents to ensure conformance to standard formats
Experience with reviewing workflows and developing recommendations for improvements
Developing or administering electronic systems for records review and filing
Experience with a wide range of office equipment and software
Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with experience managing a team to achieve a high level of effectiveness and performance
Experience supervising and administering multi-phased projects
Ability to determine how the Records Management unit should store, arrange, describe, access, and preserve records and reference materials; selects physical and electronic systems
Ability to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of library and records management practices, methods, procedures, and policies; identify problem areas and formulate and recommend solutions; monitor and report on EBMUD's compliance with records management regulatory requirements
Experience coordinating and assisting with the development and implementation of centralized records management information systems and associated technology
Experience assisting with migrating databases to newer systems, including evaluating specifications, data design and standardization, quality assurance, implementation, and user training.
The salary* is $6,798 per month increasing to $7,138, $7,495 and $7,870 after 6, 18, and 30 months, and respectively.

Completion of twelfth grade or its equivalent AND
Three years of journey-level clerical experience OR
One year of experience as an EBMUD Senior Administrative Clerk OR
Three years of experience as an EBMUD Administrative Clerk
Must possess the physical characteristics to perform the critical and important duties of the job and must be willing to work overtime as needed.
