POSITION: EXPERIENCE INDUSTRY MANAGEMENT - Full-time, academic year, lecturer position within the Experience Industry Management Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, California. The preferred start date is September 7, 2017, but not later than January 8, 2018. Possible renewal to subsequent years. Responsibilities and duties include teaching undergraduate courses in Tourism, Hospitality and Destination Management with specific expertise in Resort and Lodging Experience Management. Examples of potential courses include Hospitality Revenue & Asset Management, Destination & Hospitality Analytics, Hospitality, Technology, & E-Commerce, Hospitality Sales & Catering, Resort & Lodging Operations, Introduction to Hospitality & Travel, Financial Management in the Experience Industry, Risk Management for the Experience Industry, and Professionalism and Customer Experiences.
Duties include, but are not limited to, teaching undergraduate courses, and student advising. This is a full-time teaching position. The successful candidates are expected to also provide service to the university community and to local, state, and national hospitality, tourism, and lodging related professional organizations. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: M.S. degree in hotel management, tourism and hospitality management, or a related field is required. Doctorate degree or ABD preferred. Applicants should have a combination of teaching, practical and/or research experience in hotel management and hospitality and tourism. Experience working with hospitality and tourism industry businesses including hotels, resorts, restaurants, and destination, tourism, and hotel analytics organizations is desirable.

An M.S. in Agriculture with a specialization in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management is currently not accepting applicants.
