The San Juan Water District is seeking a qualified candidate to join the Water Treatment Plant team. Under immediate supervision of the Water Treatment Plant’s Maintenance Chief, the Facilities Maintenance Helper performs a variety custodial and routine maintenance duties pertaining to the District’s administrative building, field services building and water treatment plant facilities. Primary custodial duties include cleaning and maintaining facility floors, offices and restrooms, and emptying waste receptacles. Maintenance duties include assisting maintenance staff in the repair and service of machinery and equipment used in the water treatment plant, water storage tanks, reservoirs, and lift/pump stations, and performing routine preventative maintenance on pumps, motors and other rotational equipment.
Minimum qualifications include knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in custodial work as well as minor building and treatment facilities maintenance, plus graduation from high school or equivalent.
