Park and Beach Supervisors are responsible for monitoring and inspecting new construction, improvements, and maintenance activities related to municipal property, including parks, beaches, trails, open spaces, and streetscapes to ensure compliance with standards. Incumbents are also responsible for developing standards and specifications, and performing plan checks. This position will be responsible for beach sites including viewpoints and other park and open space areas.
Placement will be made at the Park and Beach Supervisor I level or at the Park and Beach Supervisor II level dependent upon candidates qualifications and the Department's needs.
Training and Experience:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Park Administration, Natural Resource Management or Horticulture or a related field, and two years of progressively responsible full-time experience related to park maintenance including budgeting and supervision.
Licensing Requirement ( OR ability to obtain within six months of hire date)
Arborist Certification by the International Society of Arboriculture
Pest Control Advisor License and/or Qualified Applicator's Certification
National Playground Safety Institute Playground Safety Inspector Certification
San Diego Water Authority Reclaimed Water Inspector Certification
