About The District
The Cordova Recreation and Park District (CRPD) is one of the largest Independent Special Districts in Sacramento County. It encompasses 75 square miles with over 40 parks and facilities and 120,000 residents of extraordinary diversity. The District serves the park and recreation needs of the City of Rancho Cordova, Gold River, Mather, Rosemont, Larchmont, and additional unincorporated portions of Sacramento County. Over the next two decades, the District is expected to double the number of parks/facilities and new residents.
Class Summary Under general supervision, performs technical analysis work to assist the District in facilitating solutions to budget, financial, policy, administrative and management topics; develops recommendations to the Finance Manager and Department Heads; and writes, tracks and distributes reports. A Management Analyst mostly functions independently and is expected to possess a comprehensive knowledge of District practices, policies and procedures.
The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
Under general direction of the Finance Manager, the candidate will:
Assist in the development and of District Budgets, analyze and review budgetary and financial data, and compile reports to assist other departments
Train, motivate, discipline and evaluate the performance of assigned staff
Reconcile and track all District accounts
Strong interpersonal communication and public speaking skills with ability to present information to Board of Directors, committee, departments and public
Ability to innovate and develop changes or new processes, ideas and forms to provide efficient and effective solutions
Identify, collect and track key performance data; analyze and report results
Conduct internal auditing by confirming segregation of duties, cash handling procedures, inventory and other processes
Act as liaison with outside auditors
Assist in the management of General Fund, Enterprise Fund, Community Facilities District and other Assessment District Funds
Ensure accounting reports are in compliance with GASB
Perform other related duties as assigned
