The Turlock Irrigation District (TID) is recruiting for the position of Director of Human Resources due to the retirement of the current HR Director. This is an outstanding opportunity at one of California’s most respected public utilities and water district. TID is seeking a seasoned professional with a proven record of innovation and in-depth professional knowledge in a wide range of human resource functions. The ideal candidate is accessible, collaborative, confident, and will proactively work closely with the executive leadership, department managers, and staff. Strong candidates will possess a customer-service focus and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. The position reports to the General Manager and requires the successful candidate to plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate TID’s human resources programs including recruitment and selection, classification, compensation, labor relations, training, employee benefits, performance evaluations, workers’ compensation, equal and fair employment for over 450 full-time employees.
Education: Usually exhibited by a person with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, human resources management, industrial relations or related field. A Master's degree in business administration or related field is desirable.
Experience: Usually exhibited by a person with eight (8) years of increasingly responsible experience in human resources administration with at least five (5) years supervising a Human Resources function.
