Under general direction of the Fire Chief the position of Business Services Manager (BSM) will have a key role in managing all aspects of the Fire District's financial activities, human resources, union environment, and risk management duties including: accounting, payroll, treasury, budgeting, accounts payable, and purchasing services; advises the Fire Chief and other management staff and Board of Directors on a wide variety of financial issues; and completes special assignments in support of the Fire Chief. The BSM will be part of the Fire District team of administrative and fire professionals along with committed policy makers that are committed to providing best practice for fire protection and emergency medical services to the citizens of the District.
Our BSM will be positive, personable and a good communicator. Under the direction of the Fire Chief, he/she will provide solid leadership to the administrative and finance staff. He/She will be described as friendly, engaging, self-assured, professional and highly ethical. This individual will be thorough, ethical and detail oriented in the management of the administration, yet flexible and outcome oriented while dedicated to best practices. The top candidates will have 5 years of demonstrated capabilities and experience in the applicable areas of public administration and will have an under-graduate degree in a relevant field. He/She will show their abilities in problem solving through career success stories demonstrating their profession expertise through their written submissions, through interviews as well as other selection methods. These will not be the only qualifications, but an obvious passion for good public administration, public health and safety and teamwork are pre-requisites.
The annual salary range is $100,000-$120,000 DOQ, along with a generous benefits package. Recruitment will close on March 16, 2018.
