Under general direction, plans, oversees, and provides administrative, budgetary, and work-flow management to an assigned department; analyzes department practices and procedures and makes recommendations for organizational, operational, policy, and procedural improvements; conducts needs analyses, feasibility studies, and evaluation for assigned projects and programs; acts as liaison with various community, public, and regulatory agencies; and performs related work as required.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in recreation administration, business or public administration, or a related field is required; Master’s degree is highly desirable;
Five years of relevant experience working, with at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District is a multifaceted agency that was created in 1947 by a vote of the public. It provides recreatio...n and parks for the 245-square-mile area bounded by Contra Costa County to the north, San Joaquin County to the east, Santa Clara County to the south and the cities of Pleasanton and Dublin to the west. The LARPD boundaries are very similar to those of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD).
