The City of Modesto has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, independent professional to fill our Operations Supervisor (Parks Operations) opening.
The Operations Supervisor plans, organizes, directs and supervises a variety of activities related to repairing and maintaining City buildings, streets, parks, trees, and fleet; and performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
This recruitment is being conducted to fill the current vacancy is in the Park Operations Division of the Public Works Department. This position works under the direction of the Park Operations Manager and will organize and direct crews and activities related to the maintenance of City parks, grounds, and landscape areas including Community Facilities Districts and Landscape Maintenance Districts. This position is responsible to train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel including Crewleaders and Maintenance Workers.

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Three years of increasingly responsible experience performing construction and maintenance work in the assigned area of responsibility; including one year providing technical and functional supervision over assigned personnel
Equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college with major course work in business administration, public administration or related field.
License or Certificate:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.
