The Olivehurst Public Utility District (OPUD) seeks a General Manager who has a background in public service administration, engineering or science, and is an exceptional leader and relationship builder. The General Manager reports to an elected Board, manages a $7.7 million-dollar budget, and approximately 4 direct and 40 indirect staff. This position oversees daily administration and finance divisions, as well as provides leadership to the District’s Public Works and Fire Departments, organizations which provide services to the unincorporated towns of Plumas Lake and Olivehurst. These department services include: engineering, parks, planning, utility operations, water and wastewater programs, plant infrastructure and maintenance, and fire protection.

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree, from an accredited college or university, in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field; an advanced degree is desirable.
Experience: Considerable years of experience overseeing a public sector organization, department, or agency which included overseeing like services (e.g., utilities, public works, engineering, budget, administration, fire operations, etc.).
A Class IV Wastewater Treatment Operator’s Certificate (preferred but not required)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary: $118,000 – $130,000 annually DOE/DOQ; plus bonus and excellent benefits
Interviews will be held on December 14 and 15; please hold the dates on your calendar. This is a two-day interviewing process and selected candidates will be required to participate in the two-day process. Phone screens will be conducted and candidates selected to interview will be notified on December 2nd.

Olivehurst Public Utility District (OPUD) is a special district which was formed in 1948. OPUD provides water, wastewater, and maintains and operates over 50 acres of parks for the communities of Olivehurst and Plumas Lake.
