Under general supervision, this journey level position performs a variety of duties related to the purchasing of District materials and supplies; prepares and reviews purchasing specifications and quotes; receives, stores and distributes materials and tools at warehouse locations; operates warehouse equipment; and performs other work as required.

Required: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Valid California Driver’s License issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles • Proof of good driving record as evidenced by freedom from multiple or serious traffic violations or accidents for at least two years duration. • Obtain District-issued Forklift Certification within six (6) months of employment.
Desired: • Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree is highly desirable. • Three (3) or more years of increasingly responsible work experience in performing purchasing and/or inventory functions, preferable including experience in the development of purchasing specifications and/or inventory processes, is highly desirable. • Three (3) or more years of increasingly responsible work experience performing purchasing support and account and fiscal recordkeeping is highly desirable.
The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check, pre-employment physical exam, drug screen and alcohol test.
