The Fresno Mosquito and Vector Control District is looking for a highly skilled administrator to serve as its next District Manager. This position provides direction on the operations and activities of the District and ensures smooth operation of all administrative functions. Qualified candidates will have a thorough knowledge of administrative practices, principles of organization and fiscal personnel management. An ability to plan, organize, and direct a mosquito control program adapted to the needs of the community is critical. The successful candidate will be able to coordinate the work of various disciplines involved in program operations and utilize community and other resources in program implementation. The next District Manager will actively outreach to the community and neighboring public agencies, so candidates should clearly demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will stand ready to embrace and champion the District’s mission.
Interested candidates should have experience in managing a public or private sector multifaceted organization similar in size and complexity to the District. Any combination of training and experience, which could provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to manage this complex organization, is qualifying. Possession of, or the ability to obtain within two years, a Certification by the California Department of Health Services as a Certified Technician in Public Health Vector Control and Terrestrial Vertebrate Vector Control is required. The successful candidate must also have or be able to obtain a valid California Driver’s License and be insurable under the guidelines set by the District’s insurance carrier.
